The Arno is a river in the Tuscany region of Italy. It crosses Florence, where it passes below the Ponte Vecchio and the Santa Trìnita bridge.

The great rail system in Florence and throughout Italy make it a convenient and
rather inexpensive way to travel.
It is estimated that there were eight to ten thousand gondolas during the 17th and 18th century. There are just over four hundred in active service today, virtually all of them used for hire by tourists.

The Grand Canal is one of the major water-traffic corridors in Venice. The banks of the Grand Canal are lined with more than 170 buildings, most of which date from the 13th to the 18th century.
